The absurd art of J.J. Grandville features one of the masters of satirical cartoons and a great inspiration for many artists that followed. Declared insane at the end of his life, many have said that only an insane mind could’ve conceived of such illustrations. Although Grandville has slipped into obscurity for most people, his art is often used today as the basis for clip art files.
